Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading organisation within the Pharmaceutical/Life Science space, who are searching for a VP of Business Development.

VP of Business Development - Responsibilities:

  • Utilize extensive scientific knowledge and contract manufacturing industry experience to identify ideal client targets, strategize key pathways for substantial market expansion and successfully generate new revenue

  • Manage high-level client relationships through direct outreach and tailored/individualized client engagement

  • Capitalise on differentiating business strengths to meet the complex scientific needs of small, medium, and large/global pharmaceutical/biotechnology customers

  • Work closely with internal lines of business to generate compelling sales criteria and demonstrate an entrepreneurial dedication to drive overall business growth and market recognition

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of product portfolio and service offerings, with ability to evangelize the company's brand to current and prospective customers

  • Recruit, build, and manage a world-class business development team, including hiring and development of sales representatives, setting, and holding team members accountable for targets, and continuous evaluation of all team members

  • Development and execution of thoughtful business growth strategies that reflect deep industry knowledge and proactive data and trend-based selling strategies

  • Proactive preparation and attendance: key contract manufacturing conventions, trade shows and networking events

  • Identify new markets and research new business opportunities, identifying sales pathways and key account growth strategies that allow for scalable revenue generation

  • Negotiation, RFP and contracting discussions, facilitating seamless client interactions and repeat business selling

VP of Business Development - Requirements:

  • Demonstrate exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present to internal/external decision-makers and stakeholders

  • Active project lifecycle management; providing key metric and data-driven milestones for key sales objectives and existing/future client commitments

  • Domestic Travel - expectations to be determined

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutics, Life Science or an equivalent field

  • Possess several years of experience in Sales or Business Development

  • Able to translate excellent customer service and advice into long-term customer relationships and sales success

  • Possess strong industry knowledge
