Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading Medical Devices organisation in their search for a Senior Procurement Manager specialised in Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) to join their Supply Chain team.

This role demands a strategic approach to global procurement activities, focusing on optimising investments and ensuring efficient operations maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of CAPEX and MRO procurement processes and demonstrate a proven track record in managing large-scale procurement projects in a global setting. Responsible for approximately 100MCHF spend across all business units. You will report directly to the Senior Procurement Director Coorporate.


Senior Procurement Manager - Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement Planning:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for Capex and MRO

  • Analyse market trends and adapt procurement strategies accordingly

  • Global procurement responsibility for Capex in collaboration with stakeholders and procurement colleagues managing specific areas such as manufacturing equipment, technical equipment, construction, R&D

  • Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers

  • Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve favourable conditions

  • Cost Management:

  • Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality

  • Monitor and report on cost-related performance metrics

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs

  • Ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives

  • Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal standards

  • Stay updated with relevant regulations and market changes

  • Project Management:

  • Lead and manage procurement projects from conception to completion

  • Address any challenges that arise during the procurement process

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Present procurement strategies and results to senior management


Senior Manager Procurement - Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a generalist role

  • Motivated, self-starter, team player, gets along with others, ability to influence others

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

  • Procurement experience in any related area but ideally in manufacturing or lab equipment

  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Availability to be on-site 2/3 times a week

  • Proficiency in English
