​​Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a market leading CDMO, in their search for a new Senior Manager of Project Management Office to lead a team at the Portugal site.

Senior Manager of PMO Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the Project Management area vision, strategy and measures, ensuring these are aligned to the overall business, in collaboration with the Senior Director PMO.

  • Develop and sustain standardized PM processes, implemented in a consistent and repeatable manner.

  • Develop organizational governance frameworks, hierarchies, and relationships.

  • Monitor portfolio, program, and project performance (actual versus planned) and key performance indicators.

  • Implement a PM continuous improvement system, to optimize the existing processes and adapt to new challenges and realities, in the line with the overall Corporate PMO strategy.

  • Develop and propose for approval the short and mid-term goals, annual budget and budget plan in line with the corporate strategy, in order to align activities with strategic objectives.

  • Comply with all applicable GMP and HSE guidelines, internal and external requirements as well as promote the implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and procedures (COPs, HBR, SOPs and others) within his/ her TMs.

Senior Manager of PMO Requirements:

Essential:

  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree in a scientific area.

  • Relevant years’ experience in Project Management leadership across a variety of projects within in the Pharmaceutical Industry, most preferably a significant proportion from a CDMO environment.

  • Strong Technical experience in a scientific area, preferably within an industry environment, having worked in areas such as process development and optimization, engineering, production, analytical chemistry or quality assurance.

  • Fluent in English.

Desirable:

  • Professional Project Management certification, e.g. PMP by PMI®.

  • Possess extensive knowledge of project and program management principles and practices, planning and risk management tools, and is able to lead others on them.

  • Skilled at developing and driving processes and tools, training, coaching and mentoring others in their use.

  • Experience of and comfort with different cultural environments and styles as befits a worldwide manufacturing network and client base.

  • Track record of overachieving targets.
