Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading CDMO who are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Director with a specialisation in "hunting" for new business opportunities in the field of Drug Product Contract Development and Manufacturing.

Senior Business Development Director - Responsibilities:

  • Business Expansion Strategy: Develop and execute a targeted growth strategy focused on drug product CDMO within the West Coast region. Identify new market opportunities, potential clients, and strategic partnerships.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes.
  • Client Acquisition ("Hunting"): Proactively identify, approach, and engage with potential clients, including pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, and other relevant organisations. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the creation and submission of proposals and bids, ensuring they align with client needs and company capabilities.
  • Contract Negotiations: Manage contract negotiations, pricing, and terms to secure favourable agreements that align with business goals.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Implement performance metrics and reporting systems to evaluate the effectiveness of business development activities. Provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including research and development, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all business development activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Senior Business Development Director - Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record in "hunting" for new business opportunities in drug product CDMO.
  • Extensive network and connections within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors on the West Coast.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in drug product development and manufacturing.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
