Mantell Associates is partnered with a dynamic and innovative privately held biotech, dedicated to the vision that their products will deliver valuable medicines to patients in need.
This company are active in the development of innovative active pharmaceutical ingredients with international partners, currently with 3 separate products in pre-clinical trial. They are looking to strengthen their small dynamic team and are seeking a Project Director. This position offers the possibility to work and grow within a challenging, flat-hierarchy environment and to participate in the development of novel drugs as therapeutic options for unmet serious diseases.
Project Director Responsibilities:
Leadership in strategic planning, resourcing, execution, oversight, and reporting of complex and multi-partite programs, including cooperation projects and sub-projects
Leads and coordinates interdisciplinary research, clinical, regulatory, and CMC teams from discovery through clinical development
Ensuring the definition and adherence to timelines and achievement of goals within the financial and resources framework
Successfully engage with key stakeholders to ensure the achievement of project objectives and pro-gram execution
Identify and manage interdependencies and interfaces between departments and ensure integration and alignment
Ensure expertise sharing among research and development teams and governance committees
Liaison and negotiation lead between CMC strategy, scientific biology work, and program execution
Ongoing quality management and optimization of project contents and structures
Reporting program progress, performance, trends, and expectations
Forecast and management of resources. Evaluation and optimization of resource utilization
Finance tracking, evaluation, and management of complex projects
Acting as the central interface and counterpart for both internal and external project managers and therapeutic/business area management
Project Director Requirements:
Ph.D. in Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology, or an equivalent qualification
Experience in oncology, virology, and/or rare diseases
A minimum of 8 years of experience in managing complex projects and project structures at a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical company, preferably in the R&D and CMC sector
Knowledge of the GxP environment
Understanding of regulatory requirements for clinical trials (early phase)
Knowledge of project planning and management tools
A talent for organizing and a very hands-on approach
Assertiveness and excellent communication skills at various levels
Excellent command of (spoken and written) English
Ability to systematically perform activities in a timely and accurate manner
A committed team player who can cope with pressure
