The company we are partnered with are expanding globally and are looking for experienced engineers based in Wisconsin.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be in charge of overseeing and directing your assigned capital projects from planning to completion. You will be in charge of managing design, engineering, regulatory approvals, management of change inputs, risk management, schedule development and tracking, request for proposal creation, related documentation, purchase order creation, tracking actual spending versus committed spending, safe execution, construction management, interacting with stakeholders and end users, and managing external firms and contractors, suppliers.

  • Manage and coordinate capital projects with a range of complexity levels and budgets of up to $100M from inception to completion.

  • Oversee design studios on jobs worth up to $10 million.

  • Project management and safe project execution for up to 100 tradespeople and various contractors.

  • Support annual corporate capital spending budgets above $300 million

  • Manage and finish 1 to 10 capital projects on average each year.

  • Train young engineers and support workers. Coach, develop, and guide them.

  • Capital projects should be planned, scheduled, followed up on, and monitored to ensure a safe, timely completion and complete document compliance.

  • Securing the necessary resources, and managing resources, budgets, risks, and changes using formal procedures and technique

  • Oversee projects to ensure timely completion in accordance with requirements and within allotted spending.

  • May also consult various stakeholders inside the company on a variety of business-related issues.

  • Solve complex or unusual issues by analysing research findings.

  • thoroughly informs the status of projects in relation to the budget, timeline, scope, and hazards. Keep project files current on shared resources like network drives and SharePoint.

  • Working with the manufacturing and maintenance teams, coordinate with vendors and contractors for prompt start-up and commissioning.

  • Proactively engage the team to build lean and value-added project management principles.

 

Requirements:

  • Engineering BS degree necessary.

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience managing capital projects with responsibilities for design, engineering, equipment, execution, budgeting, contractor management, and documentation in the chemical, food, or pharmaceutical industries.

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems.

  • Desirable: MS in engineering.

  • Preferably with a mechanical, chemical, or electrical degree.

  • Experience choosing rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, piping systems) is preferred.

  • Within one year of employment, possess Project Management Professional Certification (PMI PMP) or have the potential to do so.
