Mantell Associates are currently partnered with a Medical Device CRO in their search for a Head of R&D (LLM AI) to become a critical part of their leadership team.
Head of R&D (LLM AI) - Responsibilities:
Build end-to-end NLP systems, from understanding the business problem, to selecting training dataset, to modeling, to evaluating, to delivering/deploying NLP models and presenting the model results
Research, develop and maintain production level code by using existing libraries and exploring new ones, implementing modules on top of the available tech stack
Initiate the Conversational AI efforts, improving and maintaining the Natural Language Understanding part interactively with Dialog Management Plan, manage, and coordinate R&D activities in line with company goals, policies, and corporate development guidelines
Develop, train and lead the team to enable the deployment of development methodologies ensuring the performance and robustness of the manufacturing processes
Ensure that the developed processes are adequately transferable to production, in-house and to other large-scale production sites, according to expectation of recipient teams
Deliver necessary data to production to prepare production and QC documentation, and select compatible equipment for projects
Provide scientific and technical support for production problems, including problem analysis, laboratory testing for investigation, and solution implementation in production
Form a critical part of the leadership team within the business
Head of R&D (LLM AI) - Requirements:
BSc / MSc. level qualification in Computer Engineering
Proven leadership experience within R&D
Experience in people management (including leading, developing, coaching)
Proven ability to gain trust and influence at all levels and collaborative
Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, design solutions using critical thinking, analytical skills and best practices
