Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a growing Private Equity firm who specialise in investing in pharmaceutical businesses, driving growth and innovation in the healthcare sector. They are searching for a Head of Finance to lead their finance team and drive financial strategy and operations across our portfolio of pharmaceutical investments.

Head of Finance - Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the firm's investment objectives and growth plans
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with investment goals and market trends
  • Evaluate and advise on the financial implications of potential investments, including due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring
• Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee the financial performance of our portfolio companies, monitoring key metrics and KPIs
  • Work closely with portfolio company management teams to optimise financial performance, improve profitability, and drive value creation
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and analysis to identify opportunities and risks, and recommend actionable insights and strategies
• Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal stakeholders and external investors
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and best practices
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Provide guidance and support to portfolio company finance teams, promoting best practices and driving operational efficiency
  • Encourage professional growth and development opportunities for team members, ensuring a high-performing and engaged workforce
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with senior management, investment professionals, and other key stakeholders to align financial strategies with overall business objectives
  • Present financial updates, performance metrics, and investment recommendations to the executive team and board of directors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio company management teams, investors, and external partners

Head of Finance - Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within private equity or pharmaceutical industry
• Strong understanding of private equity investment processes, financial modelling, valuation techniques, and deal structuring
• Proven track record of leading high-performing finance teams and driving financial performance in complex, fast-paced environments
• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, with a passion for innovation and growth
