Job description

Mantell Associates is partnered with a Biotech organisation who are searching for a Head of Commercial Development to join their leadership team. You will oversee all commercial activities within the company and will play a crucial role in developing and driving revenue growth.

Head of Commercial Development - Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying, developing and executing business strategy across the commercial function

  • Develop continuous strategy and advance the business line whilst managing P&L

  • Determine value proposition, service offerings, pricing and portfolio strategy to meet client needs

  • Work in tandem with Business Development in winning of new business, as well as the acquisition and maintenance of new projects with partners

  • Work with the wider Sales team to ensure effective follow up, providing sales and technical tools and assistance in the selling process

  • Manage the business acquisition process for introduction of new and existing products

  • Develop a plan for generating and qualifying leads with Marketing

  • Manage commercial input for capital projects and ensure decisions are aligned to the market, business, and portfolio management decisions.

  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to management on the progress of sales and business development activities, the overall portfolio, issues and an outlook on sales and profitability for the current and future years

  • Management of customer relationships


Head of Commercial Development - Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Science or a related field

  • Proven experience in Commercial Development, Sales and/or Business Development with the Pharmaceutical/Life Science space

  • Strong account management, project management, customer relationship skills, and communication skills

  • Substantial knowledge across multiple business lines

  • Demonstrated track record of senior leadership in the industry

  • Skilled in leading and expanding teams

  • Extensive experience within the industry with a strong network

  • Proven success in negotiating and closing major contracts

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an outstanding knowledge of the market landscape

  • Experience working directly with Senior Management teams, as well as Partners and key decision makers in the space

  • Proficient in managing key accounts and driving business development efforts
