Mantell Associates is partnered with a rapidly growing CDMO in their search for a Head of Business Development focused on the US, where you will be an integral member of the leadership team and responsible for the commercial function.

Head of Business Development - Responsibilities:

  • Jointly working with the President to chalk out a growth strategy and business plan in the USA for the company to meet its vision and goals

  • Building out a robust business development strategy in the USA

  • Nurturing the right partnerships and building the eco-system for the company that enables greater visibility in the market and healthy lead flow

  • Participating in management meetings and senior leadership discussions on key strategic matters

  • Building strong business development function in the USA

  • Building and nurturing deep relationships with MNC and EBP customers to drive business growth

  • Strong focus on budgets, targets and its achievements

  • Building out a nimble, agile and flexible business development team in the USA

  • Target setting, performance monitoring, coaching and guiding the BD team in the USA

  • Identifying areas of improvement in teams and processes and take necessary initiatives to bridge these gaps

  • Providing regular report to the leadership team on progress against the business plan

  • Constantly influencing the market through participation in industry forums and market events

  • Constantly fine tuning the quoting process based on customer feedback

  • Constantly interpreting customer, market and technology trends and providing feedback to the leadership team to drive future roadmap in the USA

  • Constantly providing feedback to R&D and Operations management departments to drive operations excellence

  • Full Responsibility and accountability for achieving sales target in the USA

Head of Business Development - Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and preferably a PhD or MSc.

  • Strong and proven leadership experience of Commercial teams

  • Experience across project management, business development, sales and marketing for international markets

  • Possess professional work experience in a Commercial function, including Sales/Business Development and Key Account Management

  • Excel at building and expanding networks with individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries

  • Prove a track record of establishing successful strategic partnerships

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
