Job description

​Mantell Associates are currently partnered with a top 5 CDMO organisation on their search for a Head of Business Development for their Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) division.

Head of Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the CDMO business development strategy to meet revenue and profitability targets

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the industry

  • Develop and deliver persuasive presentations to potential clients to showcase our capabilities and value proposition

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of business development initiatives, including project management, R&D, and manufacturing teams

  • Provide thought leadership on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform business strategy and decision-making

  • Manage the business development team and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure team members have the skills and resources needed to achieve their goals

  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, progress against targets, and overall market trends to senior leadership

Head of Business Development Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering or related field. MBA preferred

  • At least 10 years of business development experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries

  • Strong network of contacts and relationships within the industry

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business development strategies that drive revenue growth and expand market share

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and market trends to inform business strategy
