Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a successful Biotech who are searching for a General Manager to join their leadership team. 


General Manager - Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team and functional leaders to develop the annual revenue plan for the site, and establish priorities for future investments to capitalise on

  • Direct the development, growth, and ongoing profitability of the site, ensuring adequate staffing and capabilities to meet customer demand and support business strategies and P&L objectives

  • Drive future growth of the site by actively engaging in Business Development, contributing to R&D pipeline development, and executing R&D projects

  • Provide strategic advice and direction to the business

  • Support the Business Plan by developing strategic interventions and strategies with the leadership team

  • Develop and implement a review and reporting process for the site to evaluate progress against business and budget objectives, and to determine future priorities and resource allocation

  • Ensure the development of appropriate processes for successful and rapid technology transfers, for both feasibility and commercial customer manufacturing operations

General Manager - Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for a PhD, and extensive and progressive management experience with a top-tier pharma and/or contract services company

  • Proven experience leading large teams

  • Successful experience and/or exposure to the broader fast-moving production arena

  • Strong scientific acumen, particularly in pharmaceutical production, with a consultative yet results-oriented approach

  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought

  • Acknowledged expertise and external/internal recognition in a broad area of knowledge, with proven insight into expanding the boundaries of existing knowledge

  • Analytical ability, both interpersonal and issue-related, with good judgement, ethics, professional presence, and strong political savvy

  • Strong business acumen and financial skills, with excellent negotiation and contracting skills
