Job description

Mantell Associates is partnered with a Pharmaceutical organisation operating in Saudi Arabia, in their search for a Compliance Director. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate legal and regulatory risks. The Compliance Director also provides guidance and support to the company's management and employees to promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance.


Compliance Director - Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an overall compliance strategy and program that aligns with the pharmaceutical company's goals and objectives.

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices in Saudi Arabia, and monitor changes that may impact the company's operations.

  • Assess the company's compliance risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Design, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls that are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Conduct regular compliance audits, reviews, and assessments to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Develop action plans to address any deficiencies or non-compliance issues.

  • Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Investigate compliance-related incidents, allegations, or breaches, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Maintain records and documentation of investigations and resolutions.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal counsel, and relevant departments, to ensure effective implementation of compliance programs.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other relevant bodies to stay informed and influence regulatory developments.

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance programs, including metrics, key performance indicators, and trends to senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Stay informed about emerging compliance issues, trends, and best practices in the pharmaceutical industry and proactively adapt the company's compliance program accordingly.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior management on legal and compliance matters, including potential risks and opportunities.


Compliance Director - Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in law or a related field. A master's degree or advanced certification in compliance is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience (8-10 years) in legal and compliance roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a regulated sector.

  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws, regulations, and industry-specific requirements related to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong understanding of compliance principles, frameworks, and best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and apply them to the company's operations.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and accountability.
