Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading CDMO Pharma Services organisation in their search for a Business Development Executive to join their team.


Business Development Executive - Responsibilities:

  • Developing a strategic business plan in conjunction with the Head of Pharma R&D for the growth of the pharma and biotech R&D product area, with a primary focus on direct lead generation through calls, emails, and social media platforms like LinkedIn. This includes assisting customers from proof of concept, through cycle and formulation development, validation, and, where relevant and in conjunction with the Head of GMP, to aseptic trial production at the company

  • Setting revenue and margin goals for the pharma R&D product area and achieving them by actively generating leads and opportunities

  • Managing and nurturing relationships with existing clients to ensure recurrent revenue and satisfaction

  • Collaborating with scientific and technical staff to scope proposals and quotes

  • Identifying, pursuing, and developing new collaborations and opportunities within the pharma and biotech sectors

  • To have an ongoing relationship with technical staff who are delivering contracted mandates to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Working with the Head of Pharma R&D to generate accurate management accounts and forecasts and reporting the same to the Board at monthly Board meetings

  • Maintaining comprehensive CRM records to track customer interactions and facilitate effective communication

  • Assisting Sales Administrator in preparing KPI's for pharma R&D product area

  • Developing and executing a robust marketing plan, working closely with the Group Marketing Manager, to promote the diagnostic product area across all channels

  • Attending trade exhibitions, conferences, and industry meetings to stay abreast of market trends and foster professional networks


Business Development Executive - Requirements:

  • Science degree in a relevant subject preferred

  • 3+ year experience in a sales role with an international customer base with a clear track record of success

  • Impeccable communication skills, including public speaking skills for events such as conferences, webinars, trade shows

  • Commitment for lead generation and marketing activities

  • The ability to assimilate new technological processes quickly and be able to articulate them to customers in a competent fashion

  • Able to work to an agreed sales and business plan and targets without day-to-day supervision. Able to tailor Company's product range to the relevant market and to identify and propose new products and services relevant to those markets

  • Work well within a close and professional team

  • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point
