Job description

Mantell Associates is currently partnered with an innovative organisation specialising in process development and the manufacture of cell therapies based on iPSC technology. They are searching for a Director of Business Development (US) to join their growing team.

Director of Business Development (US) - Responsibilities:

  • Support the organisation's growth journey, reporting directly into the CCO while acting as an individual contributor

  • Identify target partners for the iPSC platform (and additional services) and ensure awarded contracts from these companies

  • Cover an allocated territory primarily within the US

  • Identify companies and individuals to develop relationships with, and provide presentations of the value proposition and capabilities

  • Sell a concept of value creation which differ from typical service and product sales, via Face to Face meetings, virtually, emails and phone calls

  • Continually update, keep track of and report the prospecting effort and progress to ensure a high reach within specific accounts and the allocated territory

  • Establish good report and trust with C-Suite at the target companies, while also developing relationships with less senior individuals

  • Use internal key stakeholders including CCO, CTO, CEO and other important stakeholders in the prospecting effort when valuable

  • Ensure CDA's are executed before confidential information is shared

  • Align on the conceptual economics prior to issuing proposals

  • Gather the required information that allow the proposal team to issue a proposal

  • Review the content, timeline and deliverables of the proposals and ensure accuracy prior to issuing these to the target companies

  • Defend and position the content and value proposition of the proposal

  • Work closely with proposal team and technical team to support the proposal process delivers the desired output

  • Manage requested revisions to proposals

  • Co-negotiate the financial aspects of the proposal, as well as the terms and legal aspect of the respective contracts with the CCO or CEO and legal

  • Work closely with marketing to gain the highest traction in the territory

  • Attend events and support other campaigns from marketing

  • Ensure continually accurate recording of agreed activities within the current CRM system

  • Create needed dashboard, monitor and analyse the data to continually improve efficiency and sales performance

  • Continually support and drive the vision of the organisation, conducting yourself according to the company values and leading by example

  • Support colleagues to ensure that the overall company objectives are meet

  • Arrange, facilitate and present at internal and external meetings and events when required

Director of Business Development (US) - Requirements:

  • Significant travel is expected within this role

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutics, Life Science, or a related field

  • Have several years of experience in Business Development, Sales or Key Accounts management

  • Capable of leveraging excellent customer service and advice to cultivate long-term customer relationships and drive sales success

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical and cell therapy industries

  • Exhibit technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in cell therapy

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Exhibit strong networking skills and ability to establish connections with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Comfortable with utilising technology as an integral part of the sales process
