Mantell Associates has partnered with a cutting-edge CDMO organisation to aid their search for a Director of Business Development (US). This role will entail gaining a deep understanding of the organisation's product and service portfolio, as well as taking on responsibility for assigned customers right from the beginning.

Director of Business Development (US) - Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing new customers (large, medium sized pharma companies and biotech companies) located within the North America or the European region with main focus on small molecule CDMO business (API and formulation)

  • Negotiate major contracts. (Supply Agreements, Master Service Agreements, etc.)

  • Constantly fine tuning the quoting process based on customer feedback

  • Constantly interpreting customer, market and technology trends and providing feedback to the leadership team to drive future roadmap in Europe and North America

  • Nurturing the right partnerships and building the eco-system for the company that enables greater visibility in the market and healthy lead flow

  • Constantly influencing the market through participation in industry forums and market events

  • Key driver in the process of achieving "Preferred Supplier" status at the targeted account

  • This role is home based

Director of Business Development (US) - Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutics, Life Science, or a related field

  • Have several years of experience in Business Development, Sales or Key Accounts management

  • Capable of leveraging excellent customer service and advice to cultivate long-term customer relationships and drive sales success

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical and drug discovery industries

  • Exhibit technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in drug discovery and development

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Exhibit strong networking skills and ability to establish connections with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Comfortable with utilising technology as an integral part of the sales process
