Mantell Associates has partnered with a CDMO who is seeking a Business Development Director to strengthen its Commercial team. In this role, you will oversee the entire product and service portfolio and take immediate responsibility for assigned customers.

Business Development Director - Responsibilities:

  • Identify, research, and contact new prospective clients seeking small molecule CDMO services

  • Aggressively develop new business relationships to generate new clinical-stage/ commercial leads and secure new project business

  • Nurturing the right partnerships and building the eco-system for the company that enables greater visibility in the market and healthy lead flow

  • Proactively develop new project opportunities with assigned existing clients

  • Finalize proposals and ensure timely follow up is actioned appropriately, constantly fine tuning the quoting process based on customer feedback

  • Negotiate major contracts (Supply Agreements, Master Service Agreements, etc.)

  • Act as key driver in the process of achieving "Preferred Supplier" status at the targeted accounts

  • Constantly influencing the market through participation in industry forums and market events

  • Consistent client liaison and account manager post sales services, as required

  • Maintain the CRM, including contact info, call/meeting summaries, ensuring status of opportunities is current

  • Submit weekly reports of your BD activities to your immediate supervisor

  • Submit business analysis report in your region if needed

  • Deliver your personal BD performance as defined in your annual KPIs

  • Constantly interpreting customer, market and technology trends and providing feedback to the leadership team to drive future roadmap in Europe

  • As an employee of the company, you will be required to comply with all company policies and procedures. As a member of the business development team, you may contribute and participate in the annual planning process and participate in strategy and decision making for the company as a whole

Business Development Director - Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutics, Life Sciences, or a related field

  • Strong leadership experience in Sales/Business Development and Key Account Management within a Commercial function

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer orientation and expert advice into sales success and long-term customer relationships

  • Strong networking skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders

  • Possess technical knowledge and subject matter expertise

  • Proven track record of successfully establishing strategic partnerships

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously

  • Comfortable utilising technology as a key part of the sales process

  • This position requires significant travel, and occasionally on weekends as required
