Mantell Associates is partnered with a Biotech organisation who are seeking an experienced Business Development Consultant to join their growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling a comprehensive suite of ecotoxicity tesing services, including those specifically designed for regulatory submission purposes.

Business Development Consultant - Responsibilities:

  • Annual sales commitment of at least 6x your cost

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to target and secure new business opportunities within the chemical industry

  • Identify and qualify potential leads, conducting thorough research and understanding their specific needs and regulatory requirements

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at chemical companies

  • Effectively present and position ecotoxicity testing services, highlighting the benefits of using NAMs (New Approach Methods) and GLP-certified testing for regulatory purposes

  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals that demonstrate the value proposition of services and address client's specific needs

  • Negotiate and close contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements

  • Maintain and update detailed customer relationship management (CRM) data

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in ecotoxicology testing methodologies

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including scientists, project managers, and marketing, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction

  • Travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events

Business Development Consultant - Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, toxicology, chemistry, or biology

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales in ecotoxicity testing

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving revenue goals

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Experience with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) principles a strong plus

  • Experience selling NAM-based testing services highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of ecotoxicology testing principles and methodologies, including expertise in NAMs (New Approach Methods)

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., REACH, OECD guidelines) is a strong asset

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals
