I joined Mantell Associates as an Account Manager in October 2020.
Before this I had been working from home for the past 8 months in a similar position focused more so on the technology market. It became apparent to me very early on that working from home was not something I enjoyed, I lacked motivation, and also the willingness to get going and attack the day.
With businesses beginning to return to their offices, I took it upon myself to chase my dreams of working in the City of London and began scheduling interviews with top technology recruitment firms, however, one opportunity presented itself within a different industry, being the pharmaceutical & life science space.
Upon learning more about the opportunity, my interest levels grew higher, even though I had an offer on the table from a technology firm. The idea of taking a risk and starting over in a new industry became more appealing so I arranged a F2F with Alessandro the CEO to discuss the opportunity in more detail. We sat down and discussed my motivations, my interests, and how Mantell Associates can help me achieve my career aspirations.
I left the interview with a verbal offer and a strong feeling of confidence in my decision. Fast forward to my first 6 months, I threw myself into the deep end giving it everything I could, I made one placement at the 3 month mark, but the transition into a new market was proving to be much more difficult than I expected.
I didn’t give up and continued to persevere, the whole team around me was incredibly supportive and the continuous training from the CEO on the sales floor was second to none. I began to see a change in my productivity, started to learn the market, all while building a solid network of clients and candidates.
In my first full 12 months I had billed over £250,00.00, signed 7 clients and had 2 promotions. I felt this to be a massive achievement, especially given how the first few months went, and I can only thank the team around me for the support and training received.
Now, being a Business Manager, I specialise in everything across the Large Molecule space on a global scale, exclusive partnerships in place, and have a fantastic network of both clients and candidates. I have seen the business grow from 7 people when I first joined, to over 35 people and a team being formed in the US.
It has been one hell of a journey so far and with the team, the structure, the CEO, and the support throughout the business, I am incredibly excited for what the future holds for Mantell Associates as we continue to grow and expand all over the globe.
