Job description

Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a well-established full service CRO who are one of the fastest growing organisations across the US & Europe. They are currently looking to strengthen their Commercial team through the appointment of a Vice President of Business Development focused on Early Phase and this position will be reporting directly to the CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) of the organisation.

Vice President of Business Development - Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain long term client relationships resulting in the expansion of client base, build awareness of company capabilities and services and generate revenue

  • Developing new clients through the use of existing networks and other sales tools

  • Independently identifying and developing relevant resources for sales and business development.

  • Collaborate with members of the commercial team to ensure an excellent client experience across all client interactions from needs assessment through delivery and follow up.

  • Collaborate effectively with the Director of Marketing to develop marketing strategies and attract/retain clients.

  • Negotiate contracts & agreements

  • Create/Generate client proposals and bids

  • Identify and attend key conferences for the purpose of growing company visibility

Vice President of Business Development - Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience within a Commercial function including Sales/Business Development & Key Account Management

  • Life Science background ideally a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience with Early Phase Research is essential

  • Strong ability to build and grow networks of connections with people of all types and backgrounds.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Independent critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.

  • Comfortable and confident using technology as an integral part of the sales process, with particular experience using Salesforce.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once.
