Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading drug product CDMO, who is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Senior Technical Product Lead to drive product strategy, technical delivery excellence, and cross-functional alignment for drug product solutions.
In this high-visibility role based in California, you will partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to define and execute product roadmaps that solve complex client challenges and advance our competitive edge.
Senior Technical Product Lead – Responsibilities:
- Lead technical product strategy across drug product offerings, shaping capabilities, features, and services that align with client needs and market demands
- Act as the primary technical owner for product initiatives – from concept through development, launch, and continuous improvement – ensuring exceptional execution and quality outcomes
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure unified product delivery
- Translate complex scientific and technical requirements into clear product specifications, development plans, and decision frameworks
- Drive product prioritization, backlog planning, and release schedules by balancing commercial value, technical feasibility, and operational constraints
- Support technology transfer and scale-up activities by providing product leadership, troubleshooting guidance, and lifecycle documentation
- Engage with customers and key stakeholders to understand product needs, gather feedback, and evolve the product vision accordingly
- Champion best practices in product management, including metrics tracking, user feedback integration, and alignment with regulatory and quality standards
Senior Technical Product Lead – Requirements:
- 7+ years of product leadership, technical program management, or related engineering experience within drug product, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or CDMO environments
- Strong technical foundation in drug product development and delivery – ideally including injectable or solid dosage forms, aseptic processes, formulation, or equipment
- Demonstrated ability to guide complex cross-functional projects from initiation through execution, troubleshooting, and successful release
- Experience partnering with technical, quality, regulatory, and commercial teams to convert scientific requirements into robust product solutions
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to understand external needs and translate them into strategic product outcomes
- Prior experience in CDMO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Based in California, with legal eligibility to work in the U.S. and willingness to collaborate on-site
