​Mantell Associates is partnered with a leading US drug substance CDMO organisation on the search for a Director of Business Development to help maintain their growth across North America.

Business Development Director Responsibilities:

  • Effectively qualify and follow up on leads to drive sales performance objective.

  • Attend industry events with a goal of securing new business and expanding on existing business relationships.

  • Manage the sales cycle by coordinating communication between internal team members and external stakeholders in order to develop a project proposal. Follow up on submitted proposals and participate in client meetings in order to secure contract approval.

  • To support new business exploration, business strategy development and delivery of commercial activities to ensure that sales revenue is maximised.

  • Drive business development by identifying and creating compelling business cases for new opportunities with new customers.

  • Identify and review market trends (including but not limited to competitive activity, regulatory requirements, prices, user requirements and customer developments).

  • Develop effective and long-term customer relationships so that needs can be anticipated and delivered ahead of competitors.

  • To continually develop professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Business Development Director Responsibilities:

  • An academic degree (BSc/MSc or PHD) in a chemistry-related science.

  • Strong experience in Sales/Business Development, preferably in CDMO/CRO or related Life Science service industry, with in-depth knowledge and a successful track record in consultative sales.

  • In-depth knowledge of the drug development process within Pharma and GMP.

  • Excellent relationship skills, with a natural way to establish client and internal relationships in line with our values, creating and building trust.

  • Very good negotiation and organizational skills, finding solutions by being innovate and determined, understanding the relevant financial and legal aspects.
