Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a well-established organization CRDMO that is growing exponentially. They are currently looking to strengthen their Commercial team through the appointment of a Senior Director of Business Development to focus on drug discovery in the West Coast.

Senior Business Development Director - Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements.

  • Lead negotiations and manage relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

  • Foster long-term relationships with clients, using existing networks and sales tools to increase the client base

  • Ensure exceptional client experience across all touchpoints by collaborating with the Commercial team

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to create effective marketing strategies that attract and retain clients, raise awareness of company capabilities and services, and generate revenue

  • Attend important conferences to increase the company's visibility

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks for the small molecule drug discovery business.

Senior Business Development Director - Requirements:

  • Possess professional experience working in commercial functions such as Sales, Business Development, and Key Account Management

  • Exhibit strong networking skills and ability to establish connections with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of developing strategic partnerships

  • Strong knowledge of the drug discovery process, including preclinical and clinical development, regulatory requirements, and intellectual property.

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Exhibit independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Possess highly organized and detail-oriented traits, capable of managing multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously
