Job description

Mantell Associates is thrilled to have partnered with one of the most globally recognized, successful genetic testing companies in their search for a Senior Bioinformatician to join them. This is a high performing team who use machine learning, statistics and NGS analysis techniques to utilizing both internally generated as well as publicly available genomic data to ultimately positively impact patients.

 

Senior Bioinformatician – Genomics: Responsibilities:

  • Develop computational methods to analyze high-throughput functional genomics data

  • Perform integrative analysis of public and in-house generated functional genomics data with the goals of elucidating disease biology

  • Extend existing target discovery efforts to incorporate additional data types and novel analysis methods

  • Provide scientific expertise and leadership and drive complex projects forward

  • Mentor and manage junior scientists

  • Work collaboratively with members of Computational Biology and Functional Genomics teams on experimental design, pipeline design, data QC and analysis

Senior Bioinformatician – Genomics: Requirements:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics or a related field of study

  • Industry experience as a Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist with a focus on Genomics/ Genetics

  • Expertise in NGS analysis (RNAseq, single-cell RNAseq, ChIPseq)Programming: Proficient in Python ideally or R

  • Comfortable building machine learning and statistical models

  • Must have experience with large scale genomic datasets
