​Mantell Associates is currently partnered with an expanding Life Science Consulting organisation in their search for a Head of Sales to become part of their strong Commercial team.

As Head of Sales, you will be hands on helping to grow the business and leading the global commercial sales team within the UK and US. The aim of this role is to provide drive, energy, direction, and leadership in the sales function, as well as driving large pharmaceutical client engagements.

The Head of Sales will require developing existing high level c-suite relationships; in depth understanding of pharmaceutical clients purchase patterns; and determination to achieve high growth numbers for a very ambitious organisation while looking at sales process and improvements across the sales function across the UK and US.

Head of Sales - Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow revenue streams and sales teams' capabilities

  • Work directly with the CEO on scoping and driving major strategic client and partnership opportunities and support on strategic initiatives

  • Build strategic relationships and become trusted advisor to key clients

  • Identify and scope major opportunities and drive the work needed to win them

  • Take part of core deliverables and help drive deeper client engagement

  • Deliver on or above team and individual targets

  • Build a deep understanding of the client's organisational footprint, structure, priorities, and plans

  • Be a respected partner to clients and become the "go-to" person to help them solve their business challenges.

Head of Sales - Requirements:

  • Proven track record expanding big pharma accounts

  • In depth understanding of top 20 pharma companies purchase behaviours and structure

  • Outgoing and extroverted

  • Track record of over-achievement

  • Previous experience managing and leading an international sales team

  • An existing network in the target client base is a must (will be shared on request)

  • Intellectually curious - always willing to learn and develop new knowledge and skills.

  • High energy "go-getter" who can makes an impact in short order.

  • Willingness to travel extensively

  • Degree qualification in a Life Sciences discipline a plus
