Mantell Associates is partnered with a rapidly growing organisation on their search for a Head of Business Development, where you will be an integral member of the leadership team and responsible for the commercial function. Your responsibility will be to play a key role in identifying and developing prospects to expand the portfolio and growth, through a combination of organic and inorganic focus globally. 


Head of Business Development - Responsibilities:

  • Lead a solid Business Development team with the responsibility for sales, marketing, and proposals

  • Identify and create sales goals & strategies to achieve these within the budget frame together with the team – aligned with the company strategy, mission and vision

  • Ensure that the team is organised accordingly to reach the goals and responsibilities

  • Execute Business Development strategy by discovering new business segments, account strategies and technology while establishing strategic partnerships globally

  • Develop business relationships with existing clients through key account management

  • Oversee your team’s Sales, Business Development, and Marketing activities 

  • Build and develop the team as needed, and provide training for new team members

  • Work effectively with the Marketing team to design marketing strategies that attract and retain clients, promote company capabilities and services, and generate revenue

Head of Business Development - Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline and preferably a PhD or MSc

  • Strong and proven leadership experience of Commercial teams

  • Experience across project management, business development, sales and marketing for international markets

  • Drug product experience in the field of biologics, gene and cell therapy products and/or vaccines

  • Possess professional work experience in a Commercial function, including Sales/Business Development and Key Account Management

  • Excel at building and expanding networks with individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries

  • Prove a track record of establishing successful strategic partnerships

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
