​Mantell Associates are currently partnered with a leading CRO in their search for a Director of Histology to set up a new business franchise. Our client put themselves at the forefront of drug discovery and aim to accelerate product development through scientific innovation and research. Their service offerings encompass discovery, development and production of NBE's for their partners as well as characterization and analytical services.

Director of Histology responsibilities:

• Setting up and building out of a new business function that will generate significant revenue for the business

• Oversee all Histology related tasks including the processing of tissue, embedding, section and H&E staining on FFPE as well as frozen tissues from animal models i.e. rodents

• Management and running of a Histology lab by ensuring instrumentation is maintained to manufacturer standards and that quality is upheld

• Build out and manage a team within the Histology function

• Be in a client facing position with front line exposure as the face of the business

Director of Histology requirements:

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of pre-clinical disease models for Histology programs

• Strong technical expertise in hands-on Histology processes - experienced using relevant technology i.e. Leica imaging systems

• Previous supervisory or management experience within Histology or a relevant laboratory

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and wear many hats
