Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a leading Life Science Consultancy in their search for a Director of Analytics to act as a key member of their Pharmaceutical Database team, overseeing general operations of data collection and management.

You will have a team of Directors, each aligned with specific modules of data (drugs, clinical trials, etc.), reporting directly to you.

Director of Analytics - Responsibilities:

• Supervise teams across various databases on a daily basis including monitoring and reporting of various KPIs on a weekly or monthly basis

• Ensure that research deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements

• Analyse and resolve research issues promptly and accurately

• Manage projects across databases to continuously ensure high data quality and report the same to management

• Identify areas for improvement across databases through KPIs and QA initiatives and collaborate with team manages and team members to evolve sourcing, processes/standards and automation

• Coordinate the evolution of taxonomies and scientific logical rules across various datasets and data teams; accounting for data accuracy, team execution and users' expectations from a business operations perspective

• Conduct primary/secondary research, assist with database search strategies and perform basic data analysis, including supporting coverage when team members are on leave

• Apply knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug development, clinical trials, regulatory requirements and commercial products to provide clients with the highest quality data and tools

• Assist with production and/or quality review of content for internal and external client projects, analyst briefings, reports, and external deliverables in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or PDF formats

Director of Analytics - Requirements:

• Advanced degree in life sciences or another relevant field

• 10+ years of experience in life sciences research or biopharmaceuticals, data science, consulting and/or relevant project-based work

• 5+ years of experience managing a research or data analyst team

• Strong managerial and interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in research, product development, software, consulting and other divisions

• Breadth and depth of knowledge of pharmaceutical industry trends and dynamics across global markets

• Experience in data handling and proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Experience with data manipulation and advanced Excel and/or modelling skills desirable

• Excellent oral and written communication in English

• Preferred experience working in market research with SaaS data platforms

• Preferred experience managing proprietary taxonomies that evolve with a constantly developing life sciences landscape
