Mantell Associates is partnered with a small to midsize CRO who are seeking to add a Business Development Director in Europe. This person will enjoy a mixture of new business development, key account management and commercial strategy. This organisation offer development and Drug Discovery services. The new incumbent will play a leading role in driving the organisation's European expansion.
Business Development Director - Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth for drug discovery services
Identify target markets, key clients, and emerging trends to maximize business opportunities
Analyse market dynamics and competitor activities to position the CRO effectively
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic institutions
Understand clients' drug discovery needs and propose tailored solutions to meet their requirements
Ensure excellent customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns and resolving issues promptly
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive lead generation, networking, and market research
Qualify and prioritize potential clients based on their fit with the CRO's capabilities and strategic objectives
Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations to secure new business contracts
Business Development Director - Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (Ph.D., MBA) preferred
Proven track record of success in business development or sales within the pharmaceutical or CRO industry, specifically selling drug discovery services
Strong knowledge of the drug discovery process, including target identification, hit-to-lead, lead optimization, and preclinical development
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and generate new business opportunities
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Fluent French language
