Using My Biological Degrees To Succeed In a Headhunting Environment

Having graduated with a BSc in Biological Science and an MSc in Regenerative Medicine, I did not want to be another study showing how, more often than not, graduates are likely to pursue a career that is not directly related to their degree. After working within the industry for a couple of months, I knew that being in the lab was not where I wanted to be. One thing I did know was that I wanted to stay within the Life Science space, but to contribute in a different way, which led me towards Headhunting.

The Life Science headhunting career path I am now on has given me the chance to know the industry in a unique way. Learning how clinical trials work, which processes are needed to bring a drug from scientific development to market, about regulatory bodies and the role of quality in manufacturing. Most importantly, discovering what it takes to become a top professional within each Life Science vertical.

During my degrees, I experienced a range of different aspects of Life Sciences such as stem cell therapies, cellular regeneration, 3D bioprinting, molecular biology, gene sequencing, quality and regulatory guidelines as well as investigating different areas of cellular therapeutics. For my final project, I investigated the effects of PRDM4 on the development of Neural Stem Cells within different mice groups.

Having previously worked within the Cell and Gene Therapy (C&GT) industry, I decided to specialise in this space as my existing knowledge would give me a clear advantage, and the direct experience would help me build deep and meaningful relationships with candidates and clients alike.

Due to the globalisation of our clients and the need for multilingual colleagues, a career in Life Sciences headhunting offers a dynamic and culturally diverse working environment. It creates an enriching atmosphere to help develop your career. From working with clients all across Europe as well as the US, and even Asia. This career path will provide me with future opportunities to work abroad, to build a global network and speak to a range of professionals – from aspiring young scientists to CEOs and Board Directors of Million Dollar Pharmaceutical and Biotech organisations.

Aside from the obvious benefits of working in Life Sciences, this industry is where the solutions to many of the world’s problems are right now, it is booming and always will be. This is an industry that remains unlikely to be seriously impacted by political events and will continually provide opportunities for people who want to make a difference in the world.
